Firefighters are battling a huge haystack fire in Rochford that’s tearing through around 180 tonnes of hay. Blown by fierce winds, the blaze is spreading fast, putting crews on high alert.
Fire Chief Speaks Out
“Crews are working hard to protect nearby areas,” said Station Manager Rick Williams. With the windy conditions, the fire is burning through the haystack quickly. We hope to scale the incident down soon, but crews will likely stay overnight to ensure the fire burns out safely.”

The fire service is keeping a close eye on the blaze to safeguard local properties and farmland. Residents have been urged to steer clear of the area and let emergency teams do their job.
