Dr Cameron was hit by a barrage of chilling messages. Nasties messaged things like, “I hope you burn” and “I hope someone throws a brick at you in the street.” One message warned: “Think your mental health is bad now — wait til you see what abuse and nastiness yer going to have to put up with.”
The threats grew so severe that Cameron, her husband, and their two daughters fled their home for a secret spot in the Scottish countryside. “The kids were getting upset and I didn’t want them to be impacted any more,” she told The Times. “I am a mum before anything else and that was foremost in my thoughts.”

Dr Cameron quit the SNP last Thursday, blasting a “toxic and bullying SNP 1 group” for making it impossible to carry on. Her party-swapping has caused uproar, with First Minister Humza Yousaf demanding she resign and hold a by-election, insisting voters backed an SNP MP, not a Conservative.
