Fire Erupts at Hayes Takeaway – Flats Evacuated
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters rushed to a blaze at a fast food takeaway on Station Road, Hayes. The fire damaged part of the ground-floor takeaway, which has flats above.
Quick Action Stops Fire Spreading
Firefighters worked tirelessly to stop the flames spreading to nearby properties. Around 20 residents were safely evacuated from the flats above the takeaway. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Cause Linked to Deep Fat Fryer
The fire brigade’s investigators believe the blaze started accidentally, caused by a deep fat fryer. The fire broke out shortly after midnight and was under control by 1:35am. Crews from Hayes, Hillingdon, and Southall fire stations tackled the fire.
