Four-Vehicle Crash Shuts A249 Near Bobbing
A nasty smash involving two lorries, a van, and a car snarled up the Sheerness-bound A249 near Bobbing on Tuesday morning. Kent Police were called at around 8:25 a.m. to the scene, where emergency crews from the South East Coast Ambulance Service treated two people for minor injuries before rushing them to a nearby hospital.
Road Closed, Diversions in Place
The A249 carriageway between Key Street and the Bobbing slip road remains shut as recovery teams clear the wreckage. A diversion is currently in place, adding to rush hour misery for drivers.
Clearance Work Expected to Last Until Mid-Afternoon
A National Highways spokesman confirmed: “The closure between the A2 and the junction with the A250 Queenborough is expected to clear between 1:15pm and 1:30pm today, with normal traffic flow likely around 2:15pm to 2:30pm.”
Motorists are advised to expect delays and consider alternative routes while recovery and road cleaning work completes.
