Portsmouth is mourning the loss of Nick Sibley, a well-known but troubled great grandfather who died after a fall from a tower block on Saturday.
Fatal Fall From 15th Storey
Emergency services rushed to Nickleby House on All Saints Road just after 4pm following reports of a man plummeting from the 15th floor. Authorities confirmed the man had died at the scene, and Hampshire police are treating the death as non-suspicious.
Family Speak Out Amid Rumours
In a heartfelt statement, Nick’s daughters Charlotte Downs, Victoria Wallace, and Emily Snelling confirmed the tragic news.
“As people are already speculating, we want to officially let everyone know it was our dad, Nick Sibley, who took his own life on Saturday in Buckland. We’re all still trying to come to terms with this and ask for no gossip while we grieve. We’ll share arrangements in due course.”
Tributes Flood In
Friends and family have paid their respects on social media. Valerie Davison wrote on Facebook, “Charlotte, I’m so very sorry to hear this sad news. You did your very best for him. If there’s anything I can do, please let me know. He is at peace now and free from all troubles. Rest in peace, my dear nephew Nick.”
