Blaze Hits Kilburn Restaurant and Flats – Six Fire Engines Race to Scene
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters battled a fierce blaze at a restaurant with flats above on Kilburn High Road last night.
Fire Rips Through Extraction System and Building Void
The inferno damaged half of the external extraction system running from the ground floor to the roof at the back of the property. Flames also tore through a void between the ground and first floors.
Miraculously, no injuries were reported.

Station Commander Ned Alexander, who led the rescue, said: “The fire was located inside a void between the ground and the first floor of the building. Crews used cutting equipment to gain access and bring the fire under control.”
Kilburn High Road remains closed between Gascony Avenue and Kingsgate Place. Authorities are urging people to steer clear as crews continue damping down.
