Braving a fierce Force 5 southwest wind, helmsman Ross and his fearless crew plunged into choppy waters to save the day.
Braving the Storm: Lifeboat Crew Reach Scene Under Tough Conditions
Despite the challenging weather, the ILB team quickly reached the scene. Luckily, the windsurfer had already fought their way back to shore unaided. Though safe and sound, the adventurer’s equipment was badly damaged. Their rig lay abandoned on the beach, a testament to the tough ordeal at sea.
Safe and Sound: Coastguard Checks on Windsurfer’s Wellbeing
Back on dry land, the windsurfer was immediately checked by HM Coastguard Hastings. Thankfully, there were no injuries—just a battered board. With the rescue called off, the lifeboat crew returned to base, ready for the next call-out.
