Heathrow in Lockdown: Major Police Incident Shuts Airport and Transport
Chaos erupted at Heathrow Airport and the surrounding Hounslow area this morning as both Heathrow tunnels were locked down amid a serious police incident. The entire airport is closed, and key transport lines including the Underground’s Piccadilly Line and the Elizabeth Line have been suspended.
Bus Services in Turmoil – Drivers Trapped Inside
Several bus routes are severely disrupted. Lines 105, 111, 278, 285, SL9, A10, SL7, and U3 are all affected. Bus drivers caught inside the station have been ordered not to leave their vehicles under any circumstances, leaving them stuck amid the chaos.
Route Changes and Forced Terminations
- Routes 105, 111, 278, and 285 heading toward Heathrow Central will now stop at Bus Stand BP2066 on New Road, opposite McDonald’s.
- Buses must use the dedicated bus cage and lane efficiently to keep delays to a minimum.
- For routes bound for Greenford, Kingston, Ruislip, and Harrow, buses are rerouted from BP2066 via Bath Road, Nettleton Road Bus Gate, and Nene Road before returning to their usual paths.
The situation is ongoing and fluid as police manage the scene. We’re monitoring updates closely and have contacted the Met Police and London Ambulance Service for more information. Stay tuned for the latest.
