Thousands across the Isle of Wight faced power woes tonight (Thursday) as intermittent outages plagued the island. From Ryde in the East all the way to Freshwater in the West, residents reported multiple blackouts disrupting daily life.
Fault in West Wight Hits 85 Postcodes
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) confirmed a fault in West Wight is at the heart of the troubles. Around 85 postcodes in the PO30 4 and PO41 0 zones are affected. But the blackout isn’t playing fair – homes outside these areas have also seen their lights flicker off.
Engineers Racing to Fix Fault – Power Restored by Midnight
SSEN engineers are on the case, working hard to fix the glitch. Power is expected to be back to normal by midnight, bringing relief to those left in the dark.
