Jamie Oliver's Right-Hand Man to Launch Hot New Deli in Southsea
Food fans, get ready! Daniel Nowland, Jamie Oliver’s trusted sidekick for eight years, is opening The Southsea Deli this February. The local hero spotted a prime spot at the corner of Albert Road and Victoria Road South, taking over the former Jam & Bowler café premises to bring a top-notch delicatessen to the area.
From Pub Manager to Culinary Prodigy
Daniel’s love for food runs deep. Starting out as a teen chef and pub manager, he built a solid foundation before earning a degree in Food Production, Technology & Retail from Bournemouth University. After a stint developing products for Marks & Spencer, Daniel caught Jamie Oliver’s eye – and the rest is history.
“It’s been a pleasure and honour to work with Daniel, a good man, total professional and a friend more than a boss could ever dream,” Jamie Oliver said.
Southsea Supper Club Star
Not just a behind-the-scenes whizz, Daniel is well-known locally for his popular Southsea Supper Club. Since 2016, he’s been serving up exclusive three-course meals for small groups, creating unique dining experiences right in his own home.
Local, Seasonal & Delicious
Daniel promises The Southsea Deli will focus on championing local, seasonal, and responsibly sourced food. In his own words:
“My aim is to champion local, seasonal and responsibly produced foods.”
Mouths are already watering ahead of the launch at 4 Victoria Road South, right at the Albert Road junction. Watch this space!
