Just Eat Slashes 1,870 Jobs in Major Shake-Up
Just Eat is ditching its own couriers and turning to freelancers, cutting 1,700 delivery jobs and 170 operational roles. The firm insists services won’t suffer. Drivers and riders hit by the axe have been given six weeks’ notice.
The move comes after a 9% drop in customers last year, as Covid restrictions eased and more people ate out at pubs and restaurants.
Tesco Dulls Clubcard Perks Amid Price Squeeze
Tesco is slashing the value of its Clubcard rewards from triple points to just double, starting June 14. Shoppers earn points to swap for vouchers on everything from in-store buys to days out and meals.
Other big names like Sainsbury’s and Boots have also trimmed loyalty perks recently. Tesco fans aren’t happy, especially with food prices already soaring.
“Clubcard was the only reason I shopped at Tesco,” one customer griped. “Now I’ll switch to Aldi or 1.”
