YJB Cheers One Year of Powerful Partnerships in Youth Justice

Keith Fraser, Chair of the Youth Justice Board (YJB), hails the game-changing work behind the UK’s youth justice forums – a united force shaping a brighter future for kids.

Six Forums, 200+ Experts Joining Forces

The YJB marks a major milestone: one year since launching six national stakeholder forums. These hubs gather over 200 experts and organisations, with numbers climbing fast.

“Our partners stepped up like never before during the pandemic,” Fraser says. “From frontline heroes in locked-down youth estates to charities like The Children’s Society safeguarding children’s wellbeing, the drive to do better never stopped.”

Young Voices Leading the Charge

A standout forum is the Youth Advisory Network, where young people with firsthand experience of the system become Ambassadors for change. Fraser applauds their fierce dedication.

“I’m always impressed by their commitment to improving youth justice. Do take a minute to read blogs from Katy, Tyler, Kyanno, and Jessica sharing their powerful stories,” Fraser urges.

Next Steps: Action and Innovation Ahead

The YJB’s ready to build on this momentum, with plans to:

  • Host its first academic symposium via the Academic Liaison Network
  • Run virtual seminars for shared learning
  • Host a workshop targeting youth unemployment
  • Showcase partner achievements across all six forums

Fraser signs off with thanks: “Together, we’re transforming youth justice and forging a better future for children.”
