M20 Crash Sparks Chaos: Two Lanes Shut After Oil Spill

Early commuters on the M20 faced a nasty shock this morning as a crash and oil spill forced the closure of two lanes on the westbound carriageway. The trouble kicked off around 6 am on March 31 between junction 4 (Leybourne) and junction 2 (Wrotham), snarling up the rush hour.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Police and paramedics raced to the scene to tackle the spillage and clear debris. By 7:40 am, two lanes reopened, but two westbound lanes remain closed while emergency crews work. To keep operations safe, one lane on the eastbound side has also been shut.

Roadworks to Continute Overnight

Officials warn drivers the closures will stay in place until overnight resurfacing is complete. Thankfully, National Highways reports no major delays so far. But to avoid any hold-ups, motorists are being diverted via the A228 and A20.

Stay tuned for updates as the clean-up continues.
