Police Crackdown! Dispersal Order Targets Antisocial Gangs in Sittingbourne

Police have slammed the hammer down on rising antisocial behaviour in Sittingbourne town centre. A tough dispersal order kicked in at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 18 February, and will stay until 7.30pm on Thursday, 20 February.

Key Areas Locked Down as Police Patrol Ramps Up

The order covers hot spots across Sittingbourne’s town centre, including the A2, West Street, High Street, East Street, Sittingbourne Retail Park, Eurolink Way, Mill Way, and Albany Park. This lockdown targets a surge in trouble caused mainly by groups of young troublemakers.

Inspector Bassindale Warns: “Nuisance Youths Risk Arrest”

“Our officers have received reports from residents and business owners about ongoing antisocial behaviour and disorder from a minority of young people,” said Inspector Julia Bassindale. “The town centre is now heavily patrolled. Anyone causing a nuisance will be ordered to leave — ignore that, and they risk arrest.”

Under the dispersal order, cops can force individuals or groups suspected of causing trouble to clear off. Anyone who defies the order and returns within 48 hours faces arrest.

Community Action: Police Team Up With Schools to Tackle Root Causes
