London Bridge railway station has smashed it, landing a spot in the top 10 train stations in Europe. It’s the only UK station to make the cut in the prestigious European Railway Station Index 2024.

The ranking, released by the Washington DC-based Consumer Choice Center, rated stations across Europe on passenger experience, convenience, and accessibility. London Bridge scored an impressive 85 out of 118 points, placing it joint 10th alongside Germany’s Leipzig Hauptbahnhof.
Judges looked at ticket options, accessibility, number of shops and restaurants, plus train punctuality. London Bridge’s modern facilities and efficient links boosted its score.

The Consumer Choice Center isn’t convinced, warning nationalisation could cramp consumer choice and won’t tackle the real supply-demand problems on UK rails. They stated:
“We remain sceptical that the planned nationalisation addresses the fundamental supply-demand disconnect in British railways.”
