Person Hit by Train at St Dunstan’s Crossing – Major Rescue Underway
A person has been struck by a train at St Dunstan’s street crossing just after 8pm on Wednesday, 16th November 2022. Emergency services rushed to the scene for a major rescue operation.
Emergency Crews Battle to Save Seriously Injured Victim
Kent Police, Fire crews, and specialist HART Paramedics are working tirelessly to aid the seriously ill individual. The Kent, Sussex, and Surrey air ambulance’s flying doctors have also landed on site to assist.
Firefighters have set up a rope rescue system with a height vehicle to carefully recover the injured person. All train lines between the stations remain blocked as emergency and Network Rail crews manage the incident.
Road Closures and Travel Chaos Hit Canterbury
Kent Police have shut down Rheims Way, a key road in and out of Canterbury, to facilitate recovery efforts. Meanwhile, Southern Eastern trains are planning replacement buses for stranded passengers, if access can be arranged.
The incident is believed to have taken place at a level crossing, and services are severely disrupted.
