Kent Police called in a helicopter to sweep the dense Coviet Woods near Barham village. The area, nestled close to the A2 between Canterbury and Dover, is mostly rural and now a key focus in the frantic hunt.

Local Tips and Loud Bang Stir Mystery

One anonymous local claimed to hear cries for help near their home around 8.30pm – around the time the search intensified. They also reported hearing a loud bang, though it’s unclear if it’s linked to the operation.

Command Centre and Rescue Teams Gear Up

  • A large command point has been set up outside the village hall near the Post Office.
  • Around 50 volunteers from KentSAR are combing the area alongside police officers.
  • Numerous police vehicles and search and rescue ambulances remain stationed on Valley Road, ready for action.
