Man Crushed to Death by Lorry in Guildford Shopping Horror
A man in his 40s has tragically died after being struck and crushed by a delivery lorry in Guildford this afternoon. The fatal incident unfolded around 2.30pm on Onslow Street’s southbound carriageway, near the Friary Shopping Centre.
Christmas Shopping Turns Deadly
The local man was out Christmas shopping when the horror happened. As the delivery lorry reversed into the shopping centre’s loading bay, it hit the pedestrian, causing fatal injuries. Paramedics and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance rushed to the scene, but sadly, he was declared dead there and then.

Police swiftly set up traffic diversions, but queues backed up severely, with tailbacks reaching Ladymead. The busy shopping area ground to a halt as emergency crews battled to clear the scene.
Police Launch Serious Collision Investigation
“We received reports of a serious collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian in a loading bay off Onslow Street,” said Surrey Police. “Sadly, the man was declared dead at the scene. We are investigating the full circumstances of the incident.”
Emergency services including paramedics and air ambulance teams attended the scene promptly. Guildford shoppers were left shocked and saddened by the tragic accident during the busy festive period.
