Van Driver Killed in Horror Crash on A252 Canterbury Road

A van driver in his 50s has tragically died after his vehicle collided with a loose trailer on the A252 Canterbury Road this morning. The trailer had come detached from a flatbed truck, sparking a fatal smash between Challock and Charing.

Accident Details and Road Closure

The victim was driving a blue Ford Transit just before 7 a.m. when the crash happened. Police confirm the road was immediately closed between Faversham Road, Charing, and Green Lane, Challock, causing delays and diversions.

Emergency Services Respond

Emergency teams rushed to the scene near Monkery Lane but, despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the spot.

South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “SECAmb were called shortly after 7 a.m. to reports of a road traffic collision near Charing Hill. Sadly, despite the efforts of all involved, the person died at the scene.”

Investigation Underway

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is probing the crash. The victim’s next of kin have been informed.
