Man Rescued from Smoke-Filled Flat in Ramsgate After Kitchen Scare
A man was rushed to hospital after being rescued from a heavily smoke-logged flat in Ramsgate, Kent. Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to King Street following reports of thick smoke pouring from a flat.
Firefighters Save Man from Smoke Inhalation
Two fire engines arrived swiftly. Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and led the man to safety. He was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital. Thankfully, there was no actual fire. Investigators found the flat filled with smoke caused by a stove that had been left on unattended.
KFRS Issues Urgent Kitchen Fire Warning
Leanne McMahon, Group Manager for Community Safety, warned:
“Over half of all fires we attend start in the kitchen. Most are caused by unattended cooking, grease build-up, or household items left on the hob. It’s a serious risk that can be easily avoided.”
