Massive Fire Rips Through Holloway Takeaway and Flats
A dramatic fire tore through a takeaway restaurant with flats above on Seven Sisters Road, Holloway, in the early hours today. Around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines battled the blaze to bring it under control.
Ground Floor Engulfed in Flames
The entire ground floor housing the takeaway is completely engulfed. Station Commander Mike Watts, leading the operation, warned:
“The fire is producing a lot of smoke in the vicinity, and we strongly advise local residents to keep their windows and doors closed. There are road closures in place, and we urge people to avoid the area, especially as we head into rush hour to prevent further congestion.”
Emergency Crews Mobilise Swiftly
The London Fire Brigade received 19 calls starting at 3:45 AM, dispatching crews from Holloway, Kentish Town, Islington, Euston, and surrounding stations. Firefighters are working round the clock to stop the fire spreading and protect nearby homes and businesses.
Road Closures Spark Morning Chaos
Seven Sisters Road is shut off near the scene, causing major delays during the morning rush. Commuters are urged to find alternative routes and expect longer travel times.

Authorities urge locals to stay clear due to heavy smoke. Residents and businesses should remain vigilant and follow safety advice while firefighters battle the blaze.
