McRib Makes Triumphant Return to UK Menus After Nearly a Decade
Fast food fans, rejoice! McDonald’s has confirmed the sizzling comeback of the legendary McRib burger. After almost 10 years off the menu, the pork patty slathered in tangy barbecue sauce, topped with pickles and onions, will be back in UK stores from October 16 — but only for a limited time.
Fan Frenzy and App Glitch Fuel Rumours
The McRib’s return was no secret for long. Weeks of social media buzz exploded when mysterious “McRib Test Notification” glitches appeared on the MyMcDonald’s app, hinting at the burger’s return. Fans flooded the web with excitement. One tweeted, “Ummm excuse me McDonald’s, we all saw it. THE MCRIB IS COMING BACK!” Another added, “McDonald’s thought they could sneak this one by and I wouldn’t notice.”
Thomas O’Neill, Head of Menu at McDonald’s UK, said: “We have heard our fans loud and clear – the fan petitions and pleas on social media, and after almost a decade of anticipation, we are thrilled to bring back this iconic menu item. Knowing how well-loved the McRib is, we had very little choice – we had to make it happen.”
Price and Nutrition Details Revealed
- The McRib will cost £4.49 on its own.
- As part of a Medium Extra Value Meal, it’s priced at £6.19.
- The burger packs 509 calories.
New Mini Hashbrowns and Menu Shake-Up
Along with the McRib’s comeback, McDonald’s is adding mini hashbrowns to its UK menu for the first time. Launching on the same day, October 16, you can grab a five-pack for £1.49 or a 15-piece share box for £2.99. Prices may vary slightly by location, and it’s unclear if these mini hashbrowns will stay permanently—so better snap them up while you can.
Meanwhile, the end of the McDonald’s Monopoly promotion later this month will see six items dropped from the menu:
- Philly Cheese Stack
- Chicken Big Mac
- Mozzarella Dippers
- Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry
- Twix Caramel McFlurry
- Twix Latte
The McRib’s return is a nostalgic win for fans who have been craving the smoky, saucy sensation since it vanished in early 2015. Don’t miss out – the McRib won’t be on the menu for long!
