Scottish Woman Vanishes in Spanish Resort Town
Lisa, 32, disappeared without a trace on November 4, 2015, from her home in Guadiaro, San Roque, near the luxury resort of Sotogrande in Cadiz, Spain.
Mysterious Last Sighting and Violent Clues
Originally from Alexandria, Dumbarton in Scotland, Lisa had moved to Spain to live with her family. Authorities were alerted when she failed to pick up her eight-year-old son from school four days after her disappearance. Early signs suggested a violent incident had taken place at her home before she vanished.
Ex-Boyfriend Flees and Faces Arrests
Simon Corner, Lisa’s former boyfriend, was questioned but fled Spain. After months on the run, he was caught in Denmark in April 2016 and extradited back to Spain. Despite lengthy investigations, he was later released without charges due to lack of evidence. Other local suspects have been arrested, and the case took dramatic twists including a European Arrest Warrant and a surprise drop of charges against Corner after his arrest at Heathrow Airport.
Case Reopened and Then Stalled
In October 2018, Lisa’s family were hopeful as the case against Corner was reopened. Sadly, their hopes were dashed when Spanish lawyers confirmed he would not face prosecution. The mystery surrounding Lisa’s disappearance remains unsolved.
