Keynote speaker Figen Murray, OBE, powerful campaigner for the proposed Protect Duty (formerly Martyn’s Law), stressed the need for tougher security rules in public places. She has fought relentlessly following the tragic loss of her son Martyn Hett in the 2017 Manchester Arena terror attack that killed 22.

New Security Tools and Training Rolled Out
- Counter-Terrorism Security Advisors updated attendees on training schemes like See, Check and Notify (SCaN), which teaches staff to spot and report suspicious activity.
- The ‘Notify Pad,’ a new note-taking tool prompting vital info for police reports, will be trialled in the City over three months.
- CTSAs also highlighted work raising awareness about radicalisation risks and how businesses and residents can boost physical security and online safety.
