Chaos on the M3: Multi-Car Crash Near Eastleigh Brings Traffic to a Halt

Rescue teams battle to free trapped driver

Emergency crews are scrambling after a multi-vehicle smash on the M3 near Eastleigh, Hampshire. Firefighters had to cut the roof off one car to free a trapped casualty. The South Central HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) is also on scene, backed by five fire engines plus a heavy police and traffic officer presence.

Lane closures spark lengthy queues

Lanes 2 and 3 are shut between Junction 13 (A335 Eastleigh) and Junction 12 (A335 Otterbourne). Drivers face delays of up to 20 minutes as the mess blocks crucial stretches of the motorway.

Opposite carriageway hit too
