Cambridgeshire Fire Service Names Matthew Warren New Chief Fire Officer
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority has confirmed Matthew Warren as the new Chief Fire Officer. Warren, Deputy Chief Executive since 2015, takes the helm on 1 July after unanimous approval.

Authority Chair Councillor Edna Murphy hailed Warren as the clear choice. “Matthew was the outstanding candidate from a tough selection process involving interviews with members, leadership, and staff. Our unanimous backing reflects his exceptional qualities,” she said.
Finance Expert with Fire Service Experience
Warren’s career began at Cambridgeshire County Council before he joined the Fire Service in 2003. With a background in finance and accountancy, he has held roles including Head of Finance, Director of Resources, and treasurer for the fire authority. He also served as Chief Financial Officer for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
