Hero Bystander Returns Missing Defibrillator After Social Media Frenzy
A vital defibrillator, stolen and spotted abandoned a mile away, has been safely returned thanks to quick thinking and social media buzz.

Mr Fiaz Ali found the missing lifesaver by the roadside yesterday evening. Spotting it instantly, he took it home for safekeeping and alerted the ambulance trust straight away.
“When I saw it, I knew it was the one being talked about on social media,” said Mr Ali. “One of my family members was recently helped by one of these machines, so I knew how important it was. I’m glad it’s been found and I could help.”
Public Rally & Lifesaving Kit Back on the Road
The defibrillator’s disappearance caused an online storm yesterday afternoon, with news and social channels buzzing. Generous locals even offered donations to replace the device.
Oliver Mayor, Operations Manager for the trust, said: “We’re very grateful to Mr Ali for his vigilance. The defibrillator is fully working and back in service on one of our ambulances. I personally thanked him when I collected it.”
He added: “The public’s support and offers to help have been overwhelming. We’re just delighted to have it back.”
