Fire Breaks Out After Three Bots Crash at Erith CFC

A dramatic bot collision sparked a fire at our Erith Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) on 16/07/21. Three bots crashed on the grid, igniting the blaze. Thankfully, safety protocols kicked in fast.

Swift Action Averts Disaster

  • The building was promptly evacuated.
  • The sprinkler system was activated immediately.
  • The London Fire Brigade arrived on-site to tackle the fire.

No injuries were reported, and all staff are safe and accounted for. The fire damage was minimal, affecting less than 1% of the grid – all contained thanks to pre-planned fire safety measures.

Operations to Resume Soon

Despite a lingering smoke smell, the rest of the facility remains in good shape. Some disruption is expected, but efforts are underway to get things back to normal quickly. The centre should be up and running again within a week.

We appreciate the patience of all customers whose orders may be delayed.

Grateful for Emergency Services

A huge thank you goes to the London Fire Brigade and other emergency teams for their swift, professional response. Their hard work prevented what could have been a major disaster.
