Tragic Motorcycle Crash on Dorset’s A353 Claims Young Man’s Life
Dorset Police responded to a fatal crash on the A353 Preston Road at Osmington Hill at around 5pm on Tuesday, 4 May 2021. A blue Yamaha motorcycle, part of a group of four bikes, was involved in the collision.
Poole Man in 20s Pronounced Dead at Scene
Emergency services rushed to the scene alongside police, but sadly the rider — a man in his 20s from Poole — was pronounced dead at the spot. His family has been informed.
Road Closures and Full Investigation Underway
Authorities closed the road to allow a thorough examination and emergency response. Sergeant Rhys Griffiths of Dorset’s traffic unit said, “Our thoughts are with the family of the young man who sadly died at this extremely difficult time for them.”
He added: “We will carry out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision.”
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Police believe the biker group travelled from Greenhill in Weymouth along Preston Beach Road to Osmington Hill before the crash.
Sergeant Griffiths urged, “If you witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage, please contact us urgently. We thank drivers for their patience during the road closures.”
