Child Immigrant Found Dangling From Lorry on M3
Hampshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit made a dramatic stop on the M3 Northbound this morning after a member of the public spotted a foot dangling from a passing lorry trailer.
Officers quickly intercepted the lorry with the support of the dog unit, bringing it to a halt. Inside, they discovered a child illegal immigrant hidden on the trailer. The youngster was immediately taken into custody and handed over to social services for care.
Police Hunt for Others and Child’s Family
Police are now investigating if anyone else was on board the lorry and are trying to trace the child’s parents. The Local Authority has stepped in to provide ongoing support and protection.
“Report of a foot dangling from a lorry on the M3, we have intercepted with the northern team and dog unit. One illegal immigrant detained and now going to custody,” Hampshire Police stated.
They added: “Thanks for the good spot, unknown civvie! We will ensure he’s safe, fed, and looked after during this process.”
Safe and Secure: Hot Food and Care Provided
Hampshire Police confirmed the child, legally recognised as a minor, is in safe custody while social services take over. The operation involved multiple teams working together to prioritise the child’s wellbeing.
