Foolish E-Scooter Rider Nabbed on M3 Motorway Near Eastleigh
A man has been handed six points on his licence and slapped with a fine after being caught riding an e-scooter illegally on the M3 motorway near Eastleigh – without insurance.
Police Left Stunned by Dangerous Stunt
Officers from Hampshire Roads Policing Unit were stunned to find the rider breaking the law on a public highway, especially on a motorway where e-scooters are strictly banned.
“Unbelievably, the rider of this e-scooter thought it was ok to ride on the M3 near Eastleigh… yes, the motorway! They have been issued with a fine, 6 points on their driving license and the scooter seized for no insurance,” said police.
Know the Law: E-Scooters Are No-Go on Public Roads
E-scooters are illegal on public footpaths and highways unless rented as part of government trial schemes and fully insured. Using one outside these rules risks fines, penalty points, and having your scooter confiscated.
