Police Plea as Murder Probe into Missing Dad Deepens
Detectives Urge Locals to Speak Up
Detectives investigating the disappearance of Richard, 58, believe someone in the community holds the vital piece of the puzzle. They’re urging anyone with information to come forward and help bring his family answers.
Detective Inspector Neil Coop, leading the case, said: “I’m convinced there are people who know more about what happened to Richard. We need that information to fully understand the tragedy.”
Four Men Arrested and Released Amid Ongoing Inquiry
This month, police arrested two men on suspicion of murder. A week later, two more men were detained on suspicion of murder and burglary. All four have been released on bail while the investigation presses on.
DI Coop added: “At the heart of this is Richard’s 20-year-old daughter, who has suffered unimaginable trauma since November 2019. We’re determined to find the truth for her sake.”
What Happened to Richard?
- Richard was last seen by his daughter on Friday 15 November 2019.
- He missed their next meeting, prompting a missing person report on Monday 25 November.
- He was last spotted walking along the A6135 Sheffield Road in Hoyland around 11pm on Sunday 17 November.
After extensive searches, police now fear Richard may have been murdered.
