PCSO Threatened by Reckless Scrambler Rider in Southampton
Police in Southampton are hunting dangerous scrambler bike riders terrorising the Millbrook area. They want the public’s help to track down two off-road scramblers causing havoc around Mansell Park, Green Park, and Wimpson Lane.
Yellow Scrambler Bike Drives Recklessly Near KFC
On Sunday, April 3, at about 2pm, a rider on a yellow scrambler zipped dangerously along Wimpson Lane and the roundabout near KFC. The rider swerved into oncoming traffic, losing control at times. The bike is yellow and white with a large number ‘83’ on the side.
Police believe this bike often rides alongside similar white scramblers. “Have you seen these bikes or know who’s riding them? We want to hear from you,” a spokesperson said.
PCSO Targeted as Families Watch in Shock
“Many families and dog walkers were enjoying a sunny Sunday afternoon in the parks when this reckless rider put everyone at risk,” said PC Sarah Miller. “At one point, the rider nearly lost control then aggressively drove towards a PCSO, circling him dangerously.”
Riders on these bikes are often unlicensed, uninsured, and riding unroadworthy machines through parks and near playgrounds, putting the public in serious danger.
Police Urge Community to Help End Scrambler Chaos
“This irresponsible riding is all too common, and it’s only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured,” added PC Miller. “With the community’s help, we can seize these bikes and bring offenders to justice.”
