Southeastern Railway confirmed the smash-up forced a full stop on trains running through Canterbury West. All trains are currently halted on the affected line, with some services rerouted via Dover in a bid to keep journeys moving.

Commuters Face Disruption – Replacement Buses in Action

A Southeastern spokesperson said: “Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Canterbury West and Ramsgate. While emergency services attend the scene, no trains can run through Canterbury West. Some services will be diverted via Dover.”

Passengers have been advised to use replacement bus services, with tickets valid on these alternatives to ease the disruption.
