Fatal Train Incident in Winchfield
A person has died after being hit by a train near Pale Lane Farm, Winchfield, close to Hartley Witney. The fatal collision happened on Tuesday evening at around 8pm.
Emergency Services Rush to the Scene
The British Transport Police were called immediately and confirmed the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers have stated the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train in the Winchfield area,” police said.
Rail Lines Blocked, Rescue Underway
All rail lines in both directions are blocked between nearby stations as emergency crews work to handle the situation. Network Rail has called in Hampshire Fire and Rescue to help with detraining passengers from the train involved in the tragedy.
The investigation and recovery efforts are ongoing as services remain disrupted.
