Detectives in Paisley are urging the public to come forward with any information following a serious disturbance that took place on Friday, 4 August. The incident involved two vehicles, an Audi Q7 and a Ford Fiesta, which collided in the Braehead Road area, leading to a subsequent disturbance involving several individuals resulting in a man being seriously assaulted. The incident occurred at approximately 7.40pm.
The 29-year-old victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The Ford Fiesta involved in the collision was later found on fire at Grampian Avenue in Paisley shortly after the incident.
Detective Sergeant Jason Buxton from Paisley CID said that the police are currently conducting door-to-door inquiries and analysing available CCTV footage to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. He urged anyone who witnessed or heard the disturbance or saw either of the vehicles involved to come forward and provide valuable information to assist with the investigation.
The authorities are also keen to speak to individuals who might possess dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area, either capturing the disturbance or the burning of the Ford Fiesta on Grampian Avenue.
Detective Sergeant Buxton assured the public that any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove crucial in helping the investigation. He urged potential witnesses or anyone with information related to the incident to contact the police on 101, quoting reference 3666 of 4 August.
