Kent Police are hunting for witnesses after a fatal collision near Ashford that left an 84-year-old man dead.
Deadly Smash on Busy A20
The horror unfolded around 10:55 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. A black Nissan Qashqai was crossing the A20 near Hothfield from Sandyhurst Lane towards Godinton Lane when it collided head-on with a white Audi A3 travelling towards Maidstone.
Fatalities and Injuries
- The Nissan’s driver, an elderly man aged 84, was rushed to hospital but tragically died the next day.
- His passenger was also taken to hospital, with their condition undisclosed.
- The Audi driver was treated for non life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
Police Launch Serious Collision Probe
Kent’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the inquiry. Officers are urgently appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
“We urge anyone with information or footage to contact us immediately,” said a SCIU spokesperson.
