Serious Crash in Liverpool: Man in His 70s Injured
Merseyside Police are hunting for witnesses after a nasty collision in Old Swan, Liverpool, early on Saturday, 7 September. A skip hire lorry struck a male pedestrian at the busy junction of St Oswald’s Street and Prescot Road.
The man, in his 70s, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Police confirm his condition is serious but not life-threatening.
Road Closures Cause Traffic Chaos
Emergency crews have closed roads around the crash site to manage the scene. Drivers are urged to find alternative routes to avoid delays and congestion in the area.
Police Plea for Witnesses and Footage
Chief Inspector Andy Hughes is leading the investigation and wants to hear from anyone who saw the collision. He said, “This happened at a busy spot and time. If you witnessed anything and haven’t spoken to us yet, please get in touch.”
Police are especially keen to see any CCTV or dashcam footage. Local businesses near the scene should check their security cameras, while motorists in the vicinity are urged to review their dashcams.
“Any piece of information, no matter how small, could really help our investigation,” added Chief Inspector Hughes.
