Tragedy in Leighton Buzzard: Cyclist Killed in Fatal Crash
A 27-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in Leighton Buzzard, police confirmed.
Crash Details and Road Closure
The fatal collision happened around 6.25pm on Wednesday evening. Emergency services rushed to the scene on the A505, between the Stanbridge Road and A5 junctions. Sadly, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stayed and is fully cooperating with officers. The stretch of the A505 remains closed and is expected to stay shut for the rest of the day as investigations continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Sergeant Russell Jones from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit urged anyone who saw the incident or the cyclist before the crash to come forward. He said:
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident. If you think you may have seen the cyclist prior to this tragic incident or have dash cam footage of the area then please get in touch.”
