Tragic Fatal Collision on Sheil Road: 22-Year-Old Rachael Moore Killed

At around 8.10pm on Saturday, December 24, emergency services rushed to Sheil Road after a marked police vehicle struck a pedestrian. Sadly, 22-year-old Rachael Louise Moore died from her injuries.

Family Heartbroken as Rachael’s Death Confirmed

Rachael was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, partner, and friend. Her family released a touching statement:

“Rachael Louise Moore aged 22, cherished daughter of Alison and Ian, sister to Ben and much-loved granddaughter of Nana Sue. Partner to Jack and caring friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. The family requests their privacy be respected at this devastating time.”

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson of the MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit revealed:

“Following the death of Rachael, we are assisting the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in their investigation into this tragic incident. Our sincere condolences go out to Rachael’s devastated family, who are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers.”

“We urgently appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash or has CCTV, dashcam, or smart doorbell footage to come forward. Help us piece together what happened.”
