Chaos on the M27 westbound as police slam the brakes on all traffic following a crash just before 10pm tonight. Drivers face a standstill with queues stretching back to Junction 12.
Crash Closes M27 Westbound
Two vehicles collided near Fareham, prompting police to shut all three lanes. Normally, two lanes were closed for overnight roadworks, leaving just one lane open. That lone lane is now also closed to allow emergency crews to attend and recover vehicles safely.
Traffic Nightmare: 4 Miles of Gridlock
The collision caused around 4 miles of stationary traffic. Drivers have been stuck with no movement for miles in all lanes before the Fareham junction off-slip.
Injuries Not Serious, Recovery Underway
Thankfully, injuries to those involved are not believed to be serious. Vehicles were swiftly recovered by Boarhunt Garage, and traffic has begun creeping forward once more.
