Police shut the seafront to all traffic between the Kursaal and Chalkwell after a car erupted in flames near Oyster Creek Kitchen. The vehicle, believed to be linked to a local event, sparked the blaze that needed firefighters to rush in and douse the fire.
Traffic Chaos and Road Closures
With the area packed with vehicles, officers set up multiple roadblocks to manage the flow. Drivers are now forced to find alternative routes as the seafront remains closed. A police spokesperson warned the closures could last until midnight.
Crash Adds to Seafront Mayhem
Adding to the turmoil, a car crash at the Seaway roundabout prompted another partial road closure while authorities recover the wrecked vehicle. Traffic disruption is expected to continue for some time.
