Woman Seriously Injured After Lorry Collision on A130 Early Tuesday

Crash Shuts A130 Chelmsford-Bound

A pedestrian in her 50s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a lorry at around 6am on Tuesday, 24 August. The crash happened on the A130 heading towards Chelmsford.

The Chelmsford-bound carriageway between Rettendon Turnpike and Howe Green remains closed and is expected to stay shut for several hours while emergency services clear the scene.

Massive Delays as Diversions Kick In

Drivers are being diverted off the A130 through Rettendon, with routes taking you via Runwell or the old A130. Motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible to ease traffic congestion.

“Thank you for your patience whilst we deal with this incident,” police said.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage is urged to get in touch. Reports can be made online at essex.police.uk or via the ‘Live Chat’ service available from 7am to 11pm. Calls can also be made on 101 citing incident number 151 of 24 August.
