Schools in Northfleet and Gravesend Hit by Threat Emails
Chaos this morning as several schools in Northfleet and Gravesend were plunged into lockdown after receiving threatening emails. The alarming messages sparked a major police response across the area.
Shears Green Infant School First to Report Threat

Officers quickly arrived, worked with school staff, and reassured concerned parents and locals.
Reports suggest other schools, including Lawn Primary School and Copperfield Academy, also got similar emails. Lawn Primary declined to comment when approached.
Police Call Threat “Non-Credible” but Stay on High Alert
A police spokesperson confirmed the emails are under investigation but called the threat non-credible for now. Still, officers have advised schools on how to handle the situation and remain visible in the area.
“The school took the precautionary step to temporarily close after messages suggested the safety of pupils and staff could be at risk,” said Shears Green headteacher Matt Paterson in a letter shared on social media.
