Police Identify Missing Man After Cyclist Found Dead in Droxford
Police are piecing together a troubling mystery after the body of a cyclist found in Droxford is believed to be 55-year-old Declan Murray, who went missing from Southampton six days after the discovery. Declan’s family have been informed and are receiving support, but formal ID is still pending.
Cyclist Found Dead on B2150
The cyclist’s body was discovered at around 11pm on 10 August near the Station Road junction on the B2150 in Droxford. A Home Office post mortem suggests no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Investigation Ongoing
Sergeant Jonathan Bates of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit confirmed the inquiry is far from over. “We still have a number of enquiries to carry out, including formal identification procedures, in order for us to provide absolute certainty to Declan’s family and the wider community of any connection between these two incidents,” he said.
“We will be in a position to provide a further update once these further enquiries have been completed.”
