Armed cops from Kent Police and a specialist dog unit have been scrambled to a Dover address tonight, sparking a tense lockdown in the area.
Street Sealed Off as Officers Probe Threat
Two marked police cars and an unmarked BMW X5 roped off the street near the railway bridge. Armed officers were spotted shining torches into a property at number 36 Tower Hamlets Road.
A police helicopter circled overhead, giving commanders a bird’s-eye view as the drama unfolded.

One neighbour filmed officers flooding the house with torchlight, heightening the sense of urgency on the street.
Kent Police Confirm Threat Investigation Underway
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 6.53pm on 31 July after a woman reported being verbally threatened by a man known to her in Tower Hamlets Road, Dover. Armed officers attended to conduct a search of the area. Enquiries to locate the man are ongoing.”
The helicopter backed up ground officers as they continued their hunt in the hours following the reported threat.
