£130k Porsche Seized at Toton Tram Park Car Meet
Police have cracked down on car meets at Toton tram park, seizing a luxury Porsche valued at £130,000 for no insurance. The swoop was part of an ongoing operation targeting illegal gatherings across the city and county.
Illegal Car Meets No Longer Welcome
Officers descended on a car meet at the tram stop on Sunday 30 April, dealing with several drivers. The Porsche’s owner failed to ensure the vehicle was road legal and got caught out.
Neighbourhood Inspector Mike Ebbins said: “Sunday was a great result and shows our commitment to making sure this park and ride isn’t a hotspot for car meets. We got intel about a large meet and took action.”
“We understand the noise and anti-social behaviour these gatherings cause locals, and will always respond to calls. Although complaints about this site are rare, Toton remains a priority. If problems continue, we’ll step up resources.”
Police Warn Others to Think Twice
Sergeant Duane Dilks added: “The £130,000 Porsche was seized for driving without insurance while patrolling the Toton park.”
The driver got a Traffic Offence Report and the vehicle was confiscated.
NET Operations Head Trevor Stocker warned: “This seizure should deter anyone misusing our park and ride, which is solely for tram customers.”
“The tram network is covered by HD CCTV, helping us catch offenders. We urge anyone spotting suspicious activity to report it to police immediately.”
