A man has been jailed for a stabbing in Handsworth, Birmingham after a violent assault left a victim seriously injured on 11 April 2024. West Midlands Police were called just after midnight to a property on Whitehall Road where the victim was found in a life-threatening condition. He was rushed to hospital and survived.
Weapons Seized At Scene
Officers arrested Razvan Mut, 35, at the scene. A metal bar and knife later identified as the weapons used in the attack were recovered by police.
Lengthy Violent Assault
Detectives from the Major Crime Unit investigated, reviewing CCTV footage which revealed the assault lasted around 10 minutes. A member of the public witnessed the attack and called emergency services, helping to stop the violence.
Court Trial And Sentence
Mut, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. On 29 April 2024 he was sentenced to 12 years in jail at Birmingham Crown Court.
