Man Seriously Injured on M8 in Late-Night Incident
Police raced to the westbound M8 between junctions 15 and 16 at around 10.50pm on Saturday, 5 November 2022, after reports of a man on the carriageway.
51-Year-Old Taken to Hospital
The 51-year-old was rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries. Thankfully, his condition is not life-threatening.
Road Closure Causes Delays
The motorway was shut down for several hours while officers investigated. It finally reopened at about 1.30am the following morning.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
Sergeant Chris Hoggans from the Road Policing Unit said: “I would urge anyone who was on that stretch of the M8 around 10.50pm on Saturday and saw a man on the carriageway to get in touch with police. It’s important we find out exactly what happened.”
“Similarly, if you have dash cam footage from the area at the time, please review it and bring anything of significance to our attention.”
