Traffic is being diverted both southbound and northbound to ease congestion:
- Southbound: Leave A46 at Brownhills junction, join A1 northbound, exit at North Muskham, take B6325 south through South Muskham, then via A616 to rejoin A46 at Cattle Market roundabout.
- Northbound: Exit A46 at Cattle Market roundabout onto A616, continue north on B6325 through South Muskham, join A1 southbound for 3.6km, then exit at Newark junction to rejoin A46.
